GENERAL INFORMATION

October 14th Rehearsal Information

What are we trying to accomplish?

In preparation for the big event, each honors choir will have ONE opportunity to rehearse together prior to gathering at the Breslin Center on Oct. 15. On Saturday, October 14th, rehearsals have been scheduled at 3 Lansing area churches.  In addition to rehearsals, lunch and snacks will be served, music/t-shirts will be distributed, and other activities will be scheduled to assist singers in getting to know each other and their director.

Where are we meeting?

5th & 6th Grades: St. Luke, Haslett Map

7th-9th Grades: St. Matthew, Holt Map

High School/College: Our Savior, Lansing Map

How will the day’s schedule look?

The schedule for the day at all sites will be very similar to the following. Please note that parents are welcome and encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early for pick-up so that they may hear the final product from the day’s rehearsals.

9:00a: Registration

9:30a: Warm-up and Rehearsal I

11:00a: Break — Snack

11:15a: Sectional I

12:00p: Break — Lunch

1:00p: Rehearsal II

2:15p: Break – Snack

2:30p: Sectional II

3:15p: Rehearsal III

4:00p: Break

4:15p: Final run-through for parents

4:30p: Dismissal

What about meals?

Snacks and lunch will be provided. The lunch provider for the day at all sites will be Chic-Fil-A.

What should singers bring?

Students need to bring nothing with them to these rehearsals. Music, folders, pencils, food, and beverages will all be provided.

How will students be supervised?

Multiple parent volunteers as well as choir directors will be present in all rehearsal spaces, eating areas, and break rooms.

October 15th Performance Information

Where do we park/enter?

Singers and their families are encouraged to park in the parking structure located to the southwest of the arena. The southwest doors of the arena will also serve as the best place of entry into the building.

What do the singers wear?

Singers will be asked to wear the t-shirt they received during Saturday’s (10/14) rehearsals as well as a dark pair of slacks, socks, and shoes.

What is the afternoon’s schedule?

1:30p: Arrival/Seating

2:00p: Rehearsal with the Festival Chorus

3:00p: Concert walk-thru

4:00p: Pre-service Concert

5:00p: Worship Service

6:30p: Dismissal

How will students be supervised?

Multiple parent volunteers as well as choir directors will be present in all times. Singers will have to check in (specific information to made available at rehearsals on Oct. 14) and check-out at the same location.
