Conductors

5th/6th Grade Honors Choir – Hannah Bingham

Mrs. Bingham Hannah Bingham is the Founder and Artistic Director of Viva Voce Youth Choir, serving the youth of the Saline-Ann Arbor (MI) area. Throughout her 17 years of teaching vocal music, Hannah has directed award-winning choirs of all ages in public school, private school, and church settings in Kentucky, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Michigan, more recently holding positions as Treble Chorus Director with Anima-Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus (IL) and 5th-8th Grade Vocal Music Director with Saline Area Schools.

7th/8th/9th Grade Honors Choir – Josh Pedde

Mr. Pedde is the Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, an extensive choral program that includes 9 performance choirs and draws students from 359 schools and 56 school districts.  Mr. Pedde is a frequent conductor and clinician throughout the United States, and has conducted internationally in England, Italy, Austria, Spain, Germany, and Ireland.

High School/College – Jerry Blackstone

Dr. Blackstone is a GRAMMY Award winning conductor, Director of Choirs and Chair of the Conducting Department at the University of Michigan.  His choirs have performed throughout the United States and internationally in Australia, Eastern and Central Europe, Asia, and South America.  Considered one of the country’s leading conducting teachers, he has presented workshops in 30 states, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

Festival Chorus – Brian Altevogt

Dr. Altevogt serves as Chair of the Music Department and Director of Choirs at Concordia University Ann Arbor. Dr. Altevogt directs the Concordia Choir and Women’s Chorus, coordinates voice instruction, and has taught a variety of courses in Music Education, Music History, and the Humanities. Concordia choral ensembles have been active under Dr. Altevogt’s leadership, singing in
collaborative concerts and touring throughout the United States and Germany.
