Here We Stand – February 2019 Update

Share the Gospel with NASCAR Fans

A unique opportunity is again available in 2019 to the congregations of the Michigan District through our partnership with Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. In June of last year, approximately 80 people gathered for worship on Fan Plaza at the Speedway for an inspiring, Gospel-centered worship that was led by Pastor Joel Hess and the praise team from Emmanuel in Cadillac.

This year, worship is planned for Sunday, June 9, again on the Fan Plazain an even more centrally located tent area than last year. Our goal is to share the Gospel with everyone we can encourage to come to our tent so they can be touched by the Word of God.

Through the generosity of Michigan International Speedway, those attending the 10 a.m. Sunrise Worship Service on June 9 will be able to purchase advance tickets for the 2 p.m. NASCAR race at a significantly reduced price (see display ad on adjacent page). Reduced price packages for the other weekend race and events are also available, as well as reduced price camping packages for those who are interested in making it a camping weekend. Details are still being finalized and will be available on the Michigan District website in the near future or by calling Linda Ekong in the Development Office at 734.213.4265.

The Here We Stand campaign will also benefit from your attendance. Michigan International Speedway is giving $5 from every ticket purchased through this promotional event to the campaign, and the offering at the worship service will go to Here We Stand. To order tickets, contact Josh Belt at 517.592.1226.

Please consider coming to this special worship opportunity and take in a NASCAR race. Even if you are not a NASCAR fan, it is a worship experience you will enjoy. If you are a NASCAR fan, this is your opportunity to buy tickets at a savings and attend an inspiring worship service. Please think about bringing a group from your church, and help us spread the word in your church and community.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you on June 9 at Michigan International Speedway.
